2011 April PAD Challenge: Day 13

For today's prompt, write a poem that remembers an old relationship. This relationship does not have to be romantic. It could be a departed (or estranged) family member, old friend, former teacher, or even just someone you briefly encountered. And the relationship may have even been one-sided or seemingly insignificant to the other person. So let's all dig deep into our memory banks and see what we can draw out today.

Forgotten Years

I have forgotten about you
through the anger and tears

You are no longer part of my life
forgotten years

I have forgotton about you
through the hurt and fears

You are no longer in my heart
forgotten years

Nice simply written verse that strikes the reader line by line.

Interesting in it's unwritten denial, because the hurt is still there underneath and not forgotten. I like this, it says a lot in few lines.

I like it!

Hi Brenda, this is a great one shot. It almost feels like a mantra lulling the speaker into believing these lines. It's all too common that we hear (or ourselves say) similar sentiments.

It just reminds me of a quote "it takes a minute to get close with someone , and a lifetime to forget them" .. It isn't that easy right ?Glad that now you have forgotten them ! :)
