O. K. I'll admit I'm insecure about my writing, about success and failure. I'm so insecure I joined a support group Insecure Writer's Support Group is hosted by Alex J. Cavanaugh.
Here are the details in case you may want to join:
Purpose: To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns
without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire
can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all
Posting: The first Wednesday of every month is officially
Insecure Writer’s Support Group day. Post your thoughts on your own blog.
Talk about your doubts and the fears you have conquered. Discuss your struggles
and triumphs. Offer a word of encouragement for others who are struggling. Visit
others in the group and connect with your fellow writer - aim for a dozen new
people each time.
Now I'll tell you why I need a writer's support group:
I have always been insecure in my writing. I have a fear of failure, of not being good enough. Yes, I've published a few non-fiction pieces and have a few fiction pieces floating aeound the internet, but that's not good enough. I want more! I have notebooks and boxes stuffed with WIP's. Why? Because I'm not sure my words are good enough. I'm not sure I can write a novel without fail.
Do you have writer insecurites? Please feel free to share.
